SUPERCOMPUTING - HORUS

This supercomputer was build at Geosciences Center by Vlad Manea & Marina Manea without a sys admin

|
There are 34 compute nodes in active service,
each with one or two processors or CPUs, each with 2 or 4 cores. A single computational job could use 188 cores.

Each compute node has:
two Intel Quad Core processors
2.6 GHz
8 of level 2 cache
64-bit architecture
or
two AMD Dual/Quad Core processors
2.6 GHz
8 of level 2 cache
64-bit architecture
8 -16 -32 GB of RAM
one hard disk
one Gigabit Ethernet port
one power supply

Master/Login nodes
The login node is also the master node (frontend). This is one single PowerEdge 2970 server which serves as a central "master node" for the cluster. Several elements (DNS, ntp, default LSF master) of cluster infrastructure run on or originate from this server.
